The importance of computing within the National Curriculum is paramount to a child’s development, so I hope to use the skills I learn and develop, in plenty of my lessons.
Below are some computing skills which are self graded based on my individual confidence and competence. I am eager to try and make all of these at least a B grade to become the best teacher I can be by actively incorporating and encouraging computing within my teaching.
Before the course began, I purchased, red and made notes from the book ‘Primary Computing and ICT. Knowledge, understanding and practice (2014).’ It gave me plenty of ideas of how to teach computing in the primary classroom and how these can be implemented into a variety of lessons. Although my confidence grew regarding the theoretical aspect of teaching computing, I have had very little hands on experience, therefore I am hoping my placements will be able to give me the opportunity to observe and teach computing.
